Clover Device End-of-Support: What You Need to Know

If you’re using an older Clover device to manage payments or other business functions, it’s important to be aware of a significant update. Recently, Clover announced that certain hardware devices have reached their "End of Life" status and are now considered "Sunsetting." Here’s what that means for you and your business.
What Does End-of-Support Mean?
When a device is designated as End-of-Support, it will no longer receive software or security updates. Technical support for these devices will also be unavailable. If your device encounters a technical issue, it cannot be replaced, and there is a risk of data loss if the device stops functioning.
Continuing to use an unsupported Clover device increases operational and financial risks, potentially impacting your ability to run your business smoothly.
Key Dates and Fees
To address these changes, Clover has implemented a 2024 End-of-Support fee:
Fee Amount: $99.95 per device
Billing Date: On or about March 1, 2025
You can avoid this fee by upgrading to the latest Clover devices before February 15, 2025. Upgrading not only avoids the fee but also ensures that your business stays secure and operational with supported technology.
How to Check Your Devices
If you’re unsure whether your device is affected, follow these steps to check:
Log in to your Clover Web dashboard at clover.com/dashboard.
Navigate to Settings.
Click on Devices to view all devices and their serial numbers.
The following device types (identified by their serial number prefixes) are considered End-of-Support:
Station (C010)
Mobile (C020/C021)
Flex (C041/C042)
Mini (C030/C031)
Station 2018 (C050)
Station Duo (C053)
Mini 2nd Generation (C032)
Why Upgrade?
Upgrading your Clover device ensures:
Access to the latest software and security updates.
Continued technical support when needed.
Peace of mind knowing your business’s technology is reliable and secure.
By upgrading before the deadline, you’ll avoid additional fees and any disruption to your business operations. Reach out to your sales partner to explore the latest Clover device options tailored to your business needs.
What Happens If You Don’t Upgrade?
Should you choose to continue using your current devices, the 2024 End-of-Support fee will apply. Additionally, ongoing use of unsupported devices could leave your business vulnerable to operational issues and potential data loss.
By continuing to use Clover services with your current device(s), you’re agreeing to these updated terms as outlined in your agreement with Clover.
